Pros

Great atmosphere with very smart people, and people who are passionate about what they do. They are engaged and willing to go beyond what is expected.

Cons

It's a non profit, so expect that kind of pay. I don't have too many cons, but people work hard to accomplish things well.

Advice to Management

Nothing specific, it was overall a great experience. I like that it was very transparent with most emails sent out to all staff.

    Pros

Ashoka has a great mission, has some cutting edge ideas, and it is prestigious in the nonprofit world. There are a lot of young, committed idealists working there, which can be invigorating.

    Cons

Over the years there has been a lot of staff turnover and an over-reliance on VISTA volunteers. The organization makes efforts to create group consensus and to use a democratic process, but it is, in fact, an autocracy. Communication between project areas and amongst management is not good, and there is a lack of strategic planning.

    Advice to Management

More transparency is needed, along with better strategic planning. Diversity of thinking should be encouraged.

Any work at ASHOKA can help to bring positive impacts toward the society. To support social entrepreneur fellow means supporting many people at lowest level of society through various means of innovative entrepreneurship.

    Cons

You should not expect a high-paid salary since it's a charity organization. The work load is very extensive, and stressful.

    Advice to Management

The person needs to be highly self-motived and wants to devote life into social development.Skills of cross culture communication is necessary. He/she should also be eligible in doing extensive work in short time constrain.
