I have been working at Associated Press full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Dynamic environment, highly competant workforce, great individuals to work with and ever changing atmosphere. Something new is happening everyday and meeting the demands of organizations never gets boring

Cons

Internal politics, very little opportunity for advancement. Your experience at the AP is highly dependent on what department you are in.. some are a dream.. others are a nightmare.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need MUCH better advancement opportunities. Reward those who work and help advance the name.

    Pros

The AP is a solid place to work. My colleagues are smart and dedicated, and I respect their work.

    Cons

It is unclear why some managers get promoted without the skills for the job they are taking. I think there is some belief in growing into a position.
