Pros

Benefit package is reasonable and, compared to other organizations, the insurance premiums are quite inexpensive. Having an employee clinic and gym onsite is very nice.

Cons

Those who go above and beyond are very often not recognized while those that fail to provide value to the organization are promoted. The pay does not follow market trends and the rationale has always been that the organization provides exceptional benefits which is part of the total compensation package. Over the last year benefits have shrunk and compensation is still low.

Advice to Management

Leadership should look at the total compensation structure and pay to market. Additionally, promote those that provide value instead of the mediocre.

    Pros

ARUP does a great job of balancing hard work and hard play. The culture of ARUP strongly encourages a healthy lifestyle while expecting employees to do an exceptional job.

    Cons

ARUP has long been know for their outstanding benefits. In the recent years the benefits have declined. In no way is the benefits package poor, it no longer stands out amongst other employers.

    Advice to Management

I was recently invloved in the notification of an employee of the month, where the CEO and much of the administrative staff was involved. It was an incredible thing to be a part of. It made me see just how much ARUP values its employees.

    Pros

ARUP pays the most to retirement than any employer I've ever seen the problem is they don't pay much to begin with and though they contribute 20% of salary/match since your salary is low it doesn't say much

    Cons

No way your moving up in the company due to company politics. You must have 6 years of experience to be a supervisor. They do not account for education when they look at pay. And their pay wage increase is lower than industry average meaning year over year you will make less than working elsewhere. They also do a poor job at recognizing top performers.

    Advice to Management

Implement a rewards based wage based on quality and performance. You would be able to weed out the loafers and advance the cream of the crop.
