Pros

This company embrasced me the moment I walked through the door. Everyone from upper management as well as collegues went above and beyond to be make sure I was given the tools to perfom my work successfully. Feedback was often requested and suggestions are always taken into consideration. Oppoerunities exist to move upwards as long as you prove your competence. I have not noticed favoritism and there is an overall feeling of satisfaction in the air.

Cons

No specific training program in place to assist in learning about other areas which could enhance ones skills to perform. Some people are not as open to enlighten you about what they do so you have to really network with people who are willing to help you. If not you could get lost in the midst of others trying to excel.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Conduct more training opportunities and make a habit of getting continual feedback.

    Pros

    This is a good company to learn the business of drug development. Learning the Rules and Regulations of new drug development.

    This company evolved from a much smaller company which developed excellent SOP(standard operating procedures). The guts of how to bring a new drug to market from beginning to FDA was done correctly. A good place to learn. As the company grew and merged the corporate culture changed drastically.

    Cons

    The benefit package was not stabilized for retirement, investment, or bonus programs. The helthcare was good.

    Advancement was difficult, many times it depended on personal choices. Not great with vacation or personal time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better communication with employee's. Horizontal and vertical communication is effective. Listen to employee suggestions, they actually be good. Drug development is a changing process as new information is collected. Everyone has to keep an open mind.

    The most important reasons why employees leave is lack of recognition and promotion.

    Pros

    Strong product portfolio, despite the difficulties in the industry. This could benefit in the long term, however, management must be able to maximize the profit of these drugs.

    Cons

    Very poor management, from first line up. It makes it difficult to respect the company when they are making such poor decisions. It often makes it difficult to advance in the company or to feel supported. Most of the company is riddled with very poor managers who are often unfair and rather mean to people. They seem to have a great deal of insecurity and inability to relate to people or appreciate any of the efforts that employees make. Many managers simply steal the work of others and claim it for themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remove the majority of first line and middle management.
