I worked at Atlas Oil full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Weekly 'Rocking Atlas Mtgs' which allows senior leadership to recognize people for what they do, which are pretty stupid considering what are sometimes recognize

Cons

Suggestions, caring or taking initiative is not even accepted at this place. Unstructured so training is a mess apparently since many workers there are trying to 'survive'. Coming from professional and established companies, I have never seen or met so many unprofessional (probably are un-educated) workers who are disrespectful and have no known structure. The revolving door never ends, every 2 weeks someone, TALENTED & PROFESSIONAL, ALWAYS leaves.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously, get some Consultants to come in and look at ALL your employees, are they really suited for this place? You spend enough money every where else why not your employees and retaining the good ones, not the bad ones. For a 25 year old company it literally feels like it is only 2 - 5 years old. Are you still in 'growing pains' Atlas?

I have been working at Atlas Oil full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a fast paced environment and is for those who want to make a difference. The CEO, Sam Simon, embraces those who support and love the company as he does. He rewards and recognizes those who care.

    Cons

For those who want a 9 to 5 job, remain at the status quo, this IS NOT the job for you. You have to be willing to give this job your all and then some, and for some they just can't and that is ok.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find opportunity in your challenges and SUPPORT, mentor, empower and elevate your people.

I have been working at Atlas Oil full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

soft drinks, coffee and free 5*7 picture of the owner

    Cons

Horrible culture. Outrageous turnover in all departments. You are told anything to get you to come aboard, then when you are here.... the game changes and here comes the torture. You have to look over your shoulder at all times because you are just trying to get to the next day with a job. If most smart people are leaving then it must be because of senior leadership and ownership. Away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just read the posts year-after-year (except for the two written by the same person on the leadership team). Not every employee here can be wrong when they all say the same things. Senior Leaders...Ask yourself why the turnover is so high and then own the truth. If it is such a great place to work and you win all the awards,,, then why do people leave? The money is decent so it has to be because of the working conditions and culture. At some point you have to stop making excuses for your faults, stop threatening people with their jobs and realize that you are responsible for good people leaving. After all... isn't that what you preach in your core values???
