I have been working at Atlas Oil full-time for more than a year

Pros

Free pop. popcorn, and nice dinners here and there. 401k match. Paycheck always cashed. The owner peeked in every now and then to say hi. He is a generous person. He also supports the troops with his pocketbook.

Cons

Crappy raises, 30 cents per hour a year dont do much, to many Managers. Performance Review program doesnt make sense. I was on the fleet maintenance side the regional manager of that had too many responsiblities to be able to control everything he needed to, He worked 7 days a week 15+ hours a day. Everything was bought the cheapest they could find, very inefficient.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a guy with a Mechanic/Shop backround to run your Corporate Fleet Program. You shouldn't have inexperienced pencil pushers making decisions about something they know nothing about.

I have been working at Atlas Oil full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to develop professional survival techniques.

    Cons

The perception created during the interview and orientation process quickly fade as reality sets in. This is not ne of the best companies to work for in SE Michigan. The non-driver turnover, including director level and above employees, is quite high - highest I have ever experienced. The organization changes direction at the drop of a hat (or swing of a mood) and aggressively pursues business opportunities without demonstrating any semblance of a strategic plan, budget, fore-thought, etc. Most employees as stressed and perpetually in survival and self-prsurvation mode.

I worked at Atlas Oil full-time

    Pros

The pay is good, The benefits are good, and the soda, pop, coffee, and candy onsite.

    Cons

They hire you on with all the promises of joining a company in which your can build a career. However, this is just a ploy to get you to come on board. The first few days working there the employees are real nice. A few weeks in the fun begins. You have to fight for information out of everyone, the games are played. Everyone is checking up on you and you have nobody you can really trust. There are a certain few who will sabotage what your doing so you look bad and everyone is so eager to step all over you so they look good to upper management. At the top, the upper management pulls you between each other. They have no respect for the employee at all. They come off like they do with this smoke and mirror display called - "Whats Rockin Atlas" but its all a joke. The only individuals recognized are a select few over and over again. If your a new employee they are really eager at all levels to slash any type of ego out of you. I was horrified to see what they did to one new employee. Everyone knows what goes on, and only a select few will say. But don't trust those select few because they are only telling you so they can report the facts back to management on what you are observing and if you comment negatively then you will be blacklisted. PLEASE THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE ACCEPTING ANY OFFER HERE NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT SEEMS. They lock you into the job by offering relocation that you pay back if you quit. Then they provide a non compete. DO NOT SIGN ANY OF THESE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have some good people that you get rid of because you can not see the ones that may have been their longer are sabatoging any progress by those people. Stop letting people that don't understand the business implement processes. You are paying far more money out and making each job harder with all of the inconsistent processes that make your employees enter things 100 times. What a mess!
