Atmel is an ok place to work but nothing exceptional.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMost salaried people work 40 hours plus or minus. It has a laid back atmosphere. It is easy to interact with other groups.

ConsThere are limited means for upward movement or even lateral movement. The 401k match has always been poor and it is currently nonexistent. Raises/promotions are probably only given about every other year.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo keep employees happy and to retain top employees a better 401k plan should be implemented. Also there is a distrust of upper management due to stock granting.

    arrogant management is the norm.

Senior Engineer (Current Employee) Colorado Springs, CO

I have been working at Atmel

Pros: Health package, and good salaries for the Colorado Area. There is still the ability to directly impact the bottom… Cons: Management is hopelessly clueless with respect to how to treat employees like people. Some groups are huge and bloated, while others are sadly understaffed due… Advice to Senior Management: Try to have some open an honest communication with employees. Lay-offs right… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
