Worked to death and discarded

RSD (Former Employee)
Sacramento, CA

I worked at Atria Senior Living full-time for more than a year

ProsWorking with the residents always a pleasure
Working with my staff and fellow directors

ConsLONG hours - fine until it is expected and unappreciated
Executive Director that has no clue what you do, does not listen, is not supportive, does not promote or support teamwork
Company is sales and MONEY driven, not PEOPLE driven

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a reason that there is over 57% turnover in the Nursing department - now I know why. You need to find a way to make sure that what you tell the nurses is EXACTLY what you tell your salespeople because the build in confict over who is and is not appropriate is just not necessary. I am saddened that when an ED comes in from a completely different industry and takes offense when told that a potential resident is not a good fit, it is now I that is sandbagging the sales process. Atria had better stop - look - and listen because you are losing very good people for reasons that could be addressed and fixed.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
