Pros

Auction.com offers its employees amazing work/life balance, competitive pay, great benefits, and a multitude of opportunities for self-development. Most recently, senior leadership placed a renewed focus on its employees and is working to redefine the culture of the organization (blending together the best that the real estate and technology worlds have to offer). For me personally, I work in a super high-functioning team, and am surrounded by smart, driven people, who are here to fundamentally change the way people transact real estate on-line. As a company, we work in one of the final on-line spaces that has not yet fully transitioned over to the web, and it is exciting to be at the forefront of that change.

Cons

It's not perfect, but what company is - trying to fundamentally change the way real estate is bought and sold on-line is not an overnight process and takes time. The company has gone through some challenging growing pains over the last 12 months, but those pains appear to be behind us now and we have clearer direction than ever before. This is an organization that embodies the definition of change, so individuals who are not nimble enough to adapt to change quickly, run the risk of becoming frustrated.

Advice to Management

Continue the positive momentum being gained through the hiring of highly skilled & talented people; continue the focus on the people which drive the culture of the company; continue to remain true to the importance being placed on the core aspects of the business - collectively we will get there!!!

    Cons

No idea how to run a company or how to manage an organization. Company is manged by former military who do not work efficiently.

    Pros

Lunch break... allows you to take a step back and get away from the madness.

    Cons

Leadership team hires people with bloated resumes because the company is considered pre-IPO. An attempt to lure investors with those resumes but going through two CFOs in less than a year should tell you something. Pulls the plug on initiatives too quickly because the management team does not know how to lead. Employees are left working hard only to see their work become obsolete. Nepotism is thick. Old regime operates as a boys club (marine and/or alumni ties). New generation of VPs, or above level, also brings in their own pawns to gain power by numbers. Unstable environment, inept VPs, volatile industry. Focus is on commercial real estate so IPO dreams have ultimately passed. Volume in residential transactions have plummeted, hence the shift in commericl real estate. Dot com want to be because there are plenty of traditional real estate personalities in the company that are opposed to technology or have the "this is how it's always been" mentality.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company and run while it still has some sort of value and appeal. And don't forget to read the reviews here. There are a few common themes... Negative that is.
