Many great schools, but some wrongheaded initiatives

Teacher (Current Employee) Austin, TX

ProsTeachers and administration in this district work hard and take pride in what they do.
All of the schools seem very well funded. Lots of programs, lots of specialists, lots of intervention.

ConsThe current superintendent's ideas about student discipline and the removal system is misguided.
She calls the alternatives schools "pipelines to prison" as if the alternative schools are leading children to a lifetime of incarceration.

Advice to Senior ManagementRethink the cost to the home campuses (and their students) by reducing their number of removals purely to keep numbers down.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
