Pros

It was a great learning experience. Working with great teachers and learning classroom management skills and working with students. Helping out students has its rewards. Being able to monitor teachers working in the classroom had some really valuable experience if you plan to be a teacher.

Cons

Scheduled hours were broken up with a large gap in the middle. Some students were difficult to manage. There were times when I didn't have a space to tutor students which did create conflicts.

    Pros

Stable work environment. Compared to Working in corporate the chance of ekng downsize is very small. The only jobs you have to keep an eye on are the grant funded positions. Almo Holidays

    Cons

Pay does not scale well for continued education (i.e. a person who enters Aisd with a bachelors does not receives y significant pay grade chance if he or she earns a masters degree). No tuition reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

Pay partial tuition reimbursement. If we are to be great educators it would be beneficial to offer benefits to employees seeking to earn advanced degrees (masters and doctoral).

    Pros

If you're a new teacher, there can be some effective, useful PD.

    Cons

After 9 years, insignificant raises, increases in benefits premiums, and growing responsibilities make teaching less of a joy and more of a hassle.

    Advice to Management

Look at the big picture before you reinvent the wheel yet again. Where does your newest initiative fit in? Are you using all that data your teachers are inputing effectively?
