If you are looking for career advancement, keep looking.

Call Center Supervisor (Former Employee)
Burbank, CA

I worked at Auto Club of Southern California full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThey offer good benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, matching 401K, and quarterly bonuses based on performance ratings.

ConsThe Emergency Roadside call center is a constant revolving door of employees. Most leave because the hourly pay is low and they feel the evaluation process for getting raises and bonuses is unfair. The morale is very low because employees feel they are treated like a number and the local management only cares about survey results and getting their bonuses. Employees on the phones can be rated low in satisfaction based on a driver's actions, which they have little control over. Someone can be disciplined or fired based on someone else's poor performance. The computers are old and make it difficult to meet the short call length expectations. Employees feel their suggestions fall on deaf ears.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployee recognition should be more frequent and sincere. Management should get more front line employees involved and encourage them to give feedback and actually use some of their suggestions. Employees feel there is no chance of advancement because they see most jobs going to friends or favorites of the team managers and not to the most qualified candidates.

Out of date, command and control, treat employees very poorly

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Costa Mesa, CA

I have been working at Auto Club of Southern California full-time for more than 5 years

Pros: Job security, they don't fire anyone if they are afraid of… Cons: Treat employees very poorly. Managers and above have all power. Every manager fights with the others, no collaboration, no support. There is NO teamwork.… Advice to Senior Management: Value your employees, or you will end up with only tenured employees who will retire. This… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
