AutoZone – “Please Corporate Make us Better not Greedy”
Pros
They try to work with you on your schedule. Some of the stores have very good people working for them and they get along well. Other stores you can feel the tension when you walk in the door. The pay is better than most retail offers.
Cons
There is no incentives. It make us more money we aren't makeing enough push this product, push that product. The store manager and district managers get bonuses and awarded with prizes when their store (stores) do well. The employees get nothing or a pizza. Communication isn't always what it should be. When there is a store meeting it's always the same. "The Cheer", Make us more money, closing cheer. The products have gone downhill. Too much made in Mexico and China. Valucraft is Value Crap. Too many electrical parts are taken back after they have been tried on customers cars.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to running the company the way you did in the early and mid "90's. Visit the stores and talk with the employees, and listen to what they have to say. AZ was a great place to work. You have become like many other big retailers... impersonal and greedy. It has improved since we aren't run by the grocery store ceo.
