I worked at AutoZone full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

4 day work week, employee discount. Hard working unappreciated employees. If you enjoy the military you might like this job.

    Cons

Although a 4 day work week, as a member of management you're forced to come in on days off to cover for other management who are sick, on vacation or have to come in for training as there's never enough time to cross-train during regular hours.
Amazing how so many people in the same department have no idea what each-other actually do. Very cult-like for lower level managers. Sad to see so many miserable people doing the A-U-T-Z-O-N-E cheer, very humiliating. Upper management very critical and micro-managing. Alleged "anonymous climate and safety surveys", not anonymous at all. Watch-out! Safety is important only when convenient and cost effective, unsafe acts and situations that cost money to fix are ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shame on upper management. Continue hiring only the desperate.
