Pros

OK discount....as long as it isn't oil, coolant, or special order item. Good people to work with....but they are outnumbered by the idiots.

Cons

Crap pay. You are expected to push the Check Out Challenge item, which is pretty much the crappy item of the month. Most of the time, a customer doesn't even need it, nor do they care to hear about it. If you don't hit the quota, you get threatened with being written up, and even if you do, you still have your manager and DM breathing down your neck telling you its not good enough!

Poor communication between management and employees. Schedule changes with no notification, and when this happens, you still get written up for being late. Don't expect to get the hours you are scheduled for, as you will usually have hours cut so that the company can earn another dollar.

Unless you're willing to kiss some serious butt, don't plan on making a career out of it, because most likely, the DM will block you from any chance at advancement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do NOT play favorites like you do right now. Employees are treated like sheep, and are regularly mistreated by middle and upper management. Offer an incentive for CoC items, other than threats of termination and corrective actions.

    Pros

the employees are fun to work with, make good relaitons as a team member, make freinds with customers, can move up to a third key if you do good,

    Cons

the upper managment worry about items at the check out over the sale of a higher dollar item, they expect to much in little time . always pressure to sell add on sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

look at the time when they where a manager how it was when they work at the store level, long hours, taking care of customers, store duties, plus all the extras that need to be done as asign by upper management. it simply take time

    Pros

Great company for growth and a "corporate culture" atmosphere. Clear and defined chain of command and competent leadership at the top.

    Cons

Widely varied pay structure for managers based on a "you get what you can get" negotiation at the front end rather than set guidelines for middle management pay. Unusually high volume of paperwork for daily and weekly review limiting the time a manager has to actually drive marketing and sales. Little opportunity for corporate advancement communicated from the beginning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow managers an opportunity to manage rather than simply push paper back and forth.
Formalize a compensation plan based on tenure and production so that managers aren't openly wondering if "so and so" is getting paid significantly more for the same or less work.
