I worked at Autodesk full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

- Great software product lines including 2D/3D CAD, simulation, media, architecture etc - Nice co-workers and inter-communication/corporation style - Above average office - Okay Pay and benefit

Cons

- Very unstable management strategies in simulation product - Does not focus on core simulation technologies

Advice to Management

Understand core simulation technologies.

    Pros

    Good compensation Very high quality products and reputation Dedicated, very intelligent employees Executives all approachable, most are straight-shooters Always listed on 'top places to work" surveys

    Cons

    Large bureaucracy with lots of divisions, departments, teams, and criss-crossing responsibilities Company does medium to large re-orgs every couple of years Lots of mid-level manager with not a lot of growth opportunities Poor to non-existent HR function in terms of professional growth
