Current Employee - Product Manager in San Francisco, CA

I have been working at Autodesk full-time

Pros

Great products, great customers, fantastic reach into the design, engineering, and media communities.

Cons

Reorgs, reorgs, reorgs. Pidgeon-holed job descriptions that split authority without clearly defining authority. Lack of trust of junior and mid-level managers. Long legal processes. Lack of budget authority. Extreme matrixing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop micromanaging, provide a career path for employees, and trust your very smart people.

I worked at Autodesk full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good people at work here. Culture is good and is a comfortable place to work for the most part. The innovative ideas and products are the bleeding edge in several areas. Continuous learning opportunities are available and software at a discount is great.

    Cons

Having managers on the other side of the country is difficult at best sometimes. Multiple locations can also be a challenge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is always to key to better performance
