I worked at Autotrader full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Autotrader has a very fun office, great people to work with, and were always looking for better technology to use in their systems. They treat their software people very well, and allow flexibility in work hours and work from home options when they can.

Cons

Some days, you will have to spend more time in meetings than doing real work.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but learn Scrum.

    Focus on people, innovative, relatively good salary, good work environment, interesting projects

    Cons

    politics, slow implementation of ideas, wasting money, favoritism, very hard to get rid of inefficient employees, salary inequality for the amount of work performed

    I worked at Autotrader full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    In the past I would have had some Pros to post here. Unfortunately now I do not have anything positive to say.

    Cons

    Micromanagement to the max! Too much admin work, too many webinars, too much training, too much time out of the field. They will raise your goals and continue setting unrealistic expectations of the sales force. They operate out of greed. Only concern is squeezing more and more money out of their dealer clients. Management turns a deaf ear to feedback from their field sales force especially the veterans of the company. West Coast Director is one of the worst managers I have ever seen or worked with in well over 10 years.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up and smell the coffee! Ask yourself why ATC has lost so many of its top sales reps and veterans who were responsible for taking the company where it is today. Get back to the basics. Get back to the grass roots type of company it used to be. Treat your veterans who have sacrificed their time, been loyal, dedicated and committed to the company with the utmost respect. Without them ATC would be nothing!!!!
