Challenging, competent, driven

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Bainbridge Island, WA

ProsI've been with rocket ship success stories, the bad news bears, and the in between. The difference with Avalara is the commitment and the competence throughout.

ConsBe ready, a driven organization that grabs hold of your interests.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Top-heavy management and insular culture

Marketing Manager (Former Employee) Bainbridge Island, WA

I worked at Avalara full-time for more than a year

Pros: OK if you live on the island; some groups are doing interesting… Cons: All projects come from managment downward and never originiate with managers (at least this was the case in my group). Preferential hiring toward neighbors, siblings,… Advice to Senior Management: Trust the employees you hire; expand into Seattle. Lots of people from Kitsap County are working beyond their capabilities simply because you can't hire better… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
