Pros – Avanade is a great place to work to develop your technical ability. You are frequently challenged, doing meaningful work for frequently demanding clients.

As a former manager put it, "by the time Avanade is called in to a project, the sh*t has typically hit the fan. A project is flagging and needs to be put back on course or some solution needs to be delivered yesterday. So by definition, our work is demanding"

Cons – As a decentralized consulting firm, its easy to get lost in the siberian outpost of "client site". Its very easy to feel like you work for the client over Avanade and it takes effort to maintain a good strong connection to the mothership particularly on long running projects.

Advice to Senior Management – I think turn over would be very much improved if the firm focused more on binding together disparate groups instead of the constant decentralization and sub divisions. An emphasis on developing a stronger culture of what it means to work here would be helpful.
