A good company with good solutions but tough times and management instability have made it a very tough place to work.

I have been working at Avaya full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Avaya has great solutions with some advantages in the marketplace and a loyal customer base. There are some really smart people at Avaya. You can learn a great deal and develop knowledge and skills that are valuable in the industry.

Cons

Too many management changes over too short a period have led to Avaya being a very tough place to work. Strategy and priorities are changing too often. Resources are too thin for the current scope of business and commitments. Avaya's private equity sponsors are managing Avaya for the short-term and compromising long term prospects.

I have been working at Avaya full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Ability to work from home, competitive pay, insurance benefits very good

    Cons

Layoffs have happened every quarter in 13 years of working with Avaya. It creates a silo environment of employees always looking over their shoulder for the next layoff. The vision is focused on saving today at the sacrifice of tomorrow. The bonuses look great on paper but the last 8 years we haven't received the full bonus. The last 5 years we haven't even come close to the full bonus. Some have received no bonus. There is limited career progression above senior manager especially for women.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide if you want the company to grow up and then invest in it's people and technology or shut it down. Stop doing death by 1000 layoffs.
