I have been working at Avaya full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Books are cooked as to not pay employees because the company did not make their financials but then they spend millions or a billion in Nortel's case to purchase other companies, this is wonderful for Avaya.

Cons

Vice presidents and above are dysfunctional and clueless.
Main objective is to layoff American workers and offshore jobs
Continually outsourcing of jobs
No bonus year after year
Radical cut to benefits
No salary increase year after year
Constant layoffs
Huge 6B debt from owners
No 401K match
No training
No money for tools
No money for office supplies

Appreciate and listen your employees

    Pros

    Great technology for a phone company. Best in class Call Centers

    Cons

    Pretends to be very transparent. After the acquisition of Nortel, it was Red vs Blue internally. Management only focused on cost cutting.

    You have lost all morale from the front line workers.

    I have been working at Avaya full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great people and talent actually doing the work. Challenging and engaging work with excellent customers who appreciate what you are doing for them. Ability to learn new technologies.

    Cons

    Offshoring jobs. Constant layoffs and broken appraisal/rating system. Quotas are set for a certain number of low performers regardless of actual performance. Low or non-existent raises and bonuses. Having a manager who likes you is more important than actual work performed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep patting yourselves on the back for a job well done and paying out bonuses.
