I worked at Avaya full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Good people with lots of experience. Lots of technical capability. Decent salary and benefits for many. Some willingness to take risks on new product ideas and new technologies.

Cons

Way too much management churn and staff turn over. Still trying to boil the ocean and support too many products. Old technologies and are rapidly becoming uncompetitive with newer software-based products.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on realistic strategies and product schedules and staff your programs appropriately to have a better chance at successfully shipping products on time.

    Pros

    Managemet team very experienced with managing people in a positive manner. Co-workers team oriented and very helpful and really want to see you succeed. Work hours are reasonable.

    Cons

    Health benefits (medical, vison, dental) are lacking and not competitive with the rest of Silicon Vally companies..

    Pros

    Excellent pay and benefits. Tuition assistance paid for my Masters.

    Cons

    Management doesn't know which end is up. They just make it up as they go and usually get it completely wrong. None of them have any training or experience. They are put in their positions because they've shown they can work long hours, want to please their boss at any cost, and are willing say yes to every hair brained idea anyone throws out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go ahead and close the doors. You've pretty much raped the company as much as you can Silver Lake! Go ahead and put us out of our misery!
