I have been working at Avery Dennison

Pros

Ever changing, wide variety, access to technical talent, great rewards program, good benefits, great team work, very experienced work force, great intranet communication network, great IT support

Cons

Divisional leadership communicates conflicting messages, capital budget is small, six sigma direction is unclear, aging equipment, data systems need upgraded and cleaned

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Calibrate across department lines and decide priorities before they are passed down to the plants, promote from within and train for advancement more aggressively

I have been working at Avery Dennison

    Pros

Good balance between home and work life
    Competitive pay
Good working conditions, clean, well maintained.
    Generally friendly and accepting people.

    Cons

    Incredibly short term focus
There tends to be a bit of turmoil and uncertainty because decisions tend to be made too quickly,
resulting in lots of changes, reversals, or rework.
none of the investment choices in the 401K made money last year
There does not seem to be any strategic direction or long term plan.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on long term direction, and less on short term opportunities. Adopt a more careful, methodical approach to decision making.
