I worked at Avery Dennison

Pros

Very flexible and understanding of personal emergencies.
Above average benefits.
When my positions was eliminated I was dealt with fairly and my severance was generous.
Fellow employees are competent and good to work with.

Cons

They are reorganizing and generally contracting.
IT staff is over-loaded and many people are working 60 hours / week for long periods.
There is an increasing use of off-shore contractors.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

My immediate managers are doing a good job with what they are given, but upper management is not executing well.

    I worked at Avery Dennison

    Pros

Many talented and experienced personnel that one specially in fields of material science and chemistry could learn and grow. Avery has various training programs in Lean and Six Sigma that could help an individual in learning these basics.

    Cons

Higher management is not always understanding and supportive of hard working employees. Like most corporate environments, there were many incidences that recognition was tied to how good an individual's relation is with higher management rather than their results and performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand the needs of market better and improve the quality of products by integrating more lean concepts and better control over variations.
