Pros

Lots of opportunity to move between divisions, if the desire is there. Career ladder was pretty well laid out and a good work/life balance was evident and respected.

Cons

It seemed that in IT, if you did not want to end up in Corporate HQ, you could get 'stuck' at a divisional IT Manager level. Also, each division seemed like it's own company - one division could be cutting headcount to make quarterly numbers, but the guys across the street were popping champagne corks.

Advice to Senior Management

Making quarterly numbers at a division level dictated many important decisions, especially for smaller divisions.
