Pros

There are some really great people that work for Avid. At least out here on the West Coast there are. Some folks have been with the original companies for 10-15 years, and there's a very close-knit feeling in some respects.
If you're a musician, you can get great deals. I guess video too.
And that's about it for the pros anymore. There used to be many, many more.

Cons

A big one would be wondering every day if you're going to be a part of the inevitable next round of layoffs the management team is currently "not foreseeing." I've worked here for a while, and while I sometimes didn't like my job, I never felt scared for it every hour of every day. It feels as if there's NO security around here anymore.
Constant offshoring seems to be detrimental to development.

Advice to Senior Management

Realize that you're not just destroying peoples' lives and livelihoods, you're also destroying the very products that made all of the companies you've gobbled up so attractive to you in the first place.
