Pros

Colleagues, products, industry are the best reasons to work at Avid. Very smart and creative engineering team building the products. Complex, challenging and state of the art products that provide many opportunities to grow skills in a variety of software domains. Pride in how customers (film editors, broadcasters, etc.) used the products. When I left, the senior mngt was capable. Sr. Mngt has changed since then and I can't comment.

Cons

Was difficult to balance family/work life. Long hours were required since engineering team was oversubscribed. Some politics in upper levels of Mngt.

Advice to Senior Management

Value the employees and focus on the customers. Keep your eye on Apple.
