I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Free car and gas, along with free rental car nationwide.

Cons

Upper management, Employee moral, working conditions, pay. Management should not have to do hourly employee work 90% of the time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take note to the numerous class action lawsuits... they are being filed for a reason.

Current Employee - Rental Sales Agent in Phoenix, AZ

I have been working at Avis Budget Group

    Pros

The commission plus hourly structure can result in decent pay for those who survive their first year, and the benefits are fair

    Cons

Terrible hours as a new employee, and management typically makes half as much as the RSA's do while working far more hours. This results in a culture of hostility between the sales people and the managers. Most managers do not hide their displeasure about this and tend to treat the RSA's poorly. The company tends to hire in groups of 10-15 with hopes that 1 or 2 agents are able to train themselves and become decent employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on employee development rather than hiring everyone with a pulse and hoping to occasionally find a decent employee. Also attempt to create a more positive working environment for the few employees who last more than a few months
