I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits with the auto and gas, decent pay, good hours, and lots of interaction with the public

    Cons

Heavy pressure to have agents sell. High Turnover in the counter agent areas, on your feet the majority of the time. UNIONS on the Avis side.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have Shift managers more involved with counter agents. Get rid of the Unions and have everyone on both sides feel equal, the majority of the Budget agents feel inferior to the avis agents.

I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I work in a fast paced, everchanging environment. There is the opportunity to work with many great people. We get a take home car and free tank of gas. Decent pay, along with good benefits and 401K.

    Cons

We are expected to work minimum ten hour days with no overtime given. Most of my days are closer to twelve hours, which leads to a rough home life. The more you do, the more is expected of you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that most of us have families and children. There needs to be a healthy balance between work and home. We are required to wait for late flights, which takes a toll; I have had trouble staying awake driving home at 3-4AM after being at work from 3PM on. It's rough at times, but there are perks. (the car and gas are pretty good ones)
