Pros

Actually offer decent benefits, pay raises and bonuses, unlike a lot of other similar companies. Decent work environment, friendly management . I worked at a small location with a friendly environment. Not very busy during certain times of the year so had lots of down time on the off travel seasons, which was nice as I was a college student and used that time to do homework. (Although I got away with this at my location, I doubt you could everywhere)

Cons

You have to deal with the corporate culture, although it wasn't as bad as other places. In addition, you are required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Sometimes distribution was bad and they wouldn't have enough cars to fit their reservations, resulting in angry customers. Also, they would never staff us properly which resulted in me having to do 3-4x the normal workload.

    Pros

Good career opportunities for employees willing to relocate often

    Cons

Senior management preaches empowerment and practices micro-management
Initiatives being implemented on the fly at great cost and uncertain return on the investment

    Advice to Management

Implement and develop a culture of trust
Motivate and inspire and let go the obsolete "carrot and stick" approach
Focus on the long term vision rather than making plan for the next quarter
Focus more on the employees and less on the shareholders. If employees are happy, customers will be happy, shareholders will be happy.

Initially rewarding, however the last few years, micromanaging has become the norm

    Pros

Managers get a free car to drive; You can move up the management ladder IFyou are willing to relocate frequently

    Cons

The "old boy network" is still existence; Some relics in management keep company from moving forward; little family/work balance.

    Advice to Management

Streamline and focus. Too many "new" processes or projects being rolled out without the resources and manpower being in place; Instead of achieving excellence in a few areas, managers are forced to resort to being "fire fighters" with a emphasis on short term
