Former Employee - Director in Parsippany, NJ

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

1. Wide parking spaces. 2. If you want to work for a company that gets nowhere and accomplishes nothing than this is it.
After working there for several years I was laid off just over 2 years ago. Since then the company has focused on buying out other entities to create the illusion for stock holders that they are successful. There has been tremendous turnover because the new leadership wants to bring in their own people and the people that have been loyal for decades are getting the shaft and treated like dirt.

Cons

Having a career is limited due to lack of solid leadership. Working there has become a revolving door here employees are constantly looking over their shoulders. Senior leadership cannot be trusted. Those that do move up have little if any skills but instead look and play the part

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Board members should seriously consider replacing the two-faced fake leadership. If not for the illusion of a strong bottom line and of course Quantitative Easing, the stock price would be in the single digits

    Cons

I worked at Avis Budget Group

    Pros

Decent pay and good benefits. Executive management seems to care about employees. Company seems to be moving in a positive direction geared towards development from employee and customer feedback. A growing focus on training and development opportunities. Promotional opportunities are available to those who are qualified and put the required effort forth.

    Cons

Numerous times company politics negatively impacted managerial decisions. Hard work or positive results were rarely recognized by superiors. A majority of the work environment is stressful and requires long hours. Often times upper level management based conclusions on personal impressions and flawed reporting systems without further inquiry. The character and credibility of certain upper level management and supervisors was not genuine.

Your employees are your biggest asset.
