Avon – “Avon used to be a well respected Beauty Company now it is a multi-level Marketing Mess.”

Avon has an awesome benefits package
Cons
You are expected to work nights, weekends, there is no family/work balance when you have to work over 80 hours per week and then you are still not appreciated. Our jobs are threatened weekly, Avon is not a secure place to work, your best is never good enough with this company. Senior management does not care about you and you are always one step away from being fired no matter how good you are. Most of my Peers (other DSM's) in my Division are on Blood Pressure medicine and are dangerously stressed, I would not recommend this job to my enemy and as soon as I find something else I will be gone and never look back
Advice to Senior Management
Please Value your Field Management and realize that you are pushing us to quit caring and morale is so low out in the field. You need to realize that we are one person, We are stressed and it shows in everything we do, our Representatives see and feel it as well and it does not make them want to push sales for a company that is so callous and uncaring to its employees. We have built great relationships with our Representatives and they hate to see us so stressed and it is not something that you can keep from those that you work so closely with. Avon you are losing the respect of your employees and Independent Representatives. Avon you are opening the door to discontent and we along with our representatives are going elsewhere and all the time and money invested in your staff and representatives will be wasted. We are tired, overwelmed at your ever changing expectations and we are burnt out. You can not push people with the threat of firing them all the time, you can not push people by working them into the ground, you can not push people to perform for you when you question our every move with extreme micro-managing, we need to come up for air and breathe once in awhile, Start appreciating us and let us take back control of our districts, let us decide how it should be done, after all we are the work horses out in the field day and night and almost every weekend, empower us, do not keep tearing us down with the constant threat of firing us. Back off.

Upper managment forces us to promise things to representatives, that we know are not true. They will not make huge money. We don't even earn what we're worth. We are all tired of lying to our representatives and feeding them the lies that Avon wants us to tell them. It makes me sick.
Absolutely EVERY manager in my division is frantically seeking other employment. Avon is a sinking ship...and we're jumping off as quickly as we can.
Wake up Avon.

Non negotiable is what I am told. You either make plan plus 5, plus 10 or you are in review and micromanaged every minute of the day to the point of paralysis. The job focus changes daily depending on the trend of the moment and we are forced to juggle 100 balls at a time! A DSM used to only good as their last campaign, now it's as good as your contact list and sales of the day.
It seems quite socialist to make everyone do the same exact thing no matter what. Constant reports, conference calls chiding us about plans not being met. No wonder the morale is so poor - yet they don't see it, nor is anyone able to express their ideas or thoughts for fear of being fired.
Avon has become the AMWAY of old. It's time for this tired, burnt out manager to find new work, after a lengthy time to heal from the craziness.
