Pros

Nice corporate culture and team spirit
Communication and visibility on company goals and results
Career opportunities (including mobility program to relocate to another country)

Cons

Time difference between offices on different continents - results in late/early calls sometimes
Not all of the people have the necessary knowledge and skills for the positions they hold
Open Space Office that goes too noisy sometimes

    Pros

    Company is OK in general, many things are as it should be and in my field - tech support - everything works acceptable

    Cons

    The Job is somehow static in comparison with my previous experience in a similar position. But it also has it's "satisfaction" points in the self-training which is provided when you join the company.

    Pros

    Good benefits package. Some good products for certain verticals. Some experienced people. Some people with great ideas.

    Cons

    Unwillingness to pay and motivate technical staff. Very sales dominated culture. Lacks experienced managers. The ratio of managers/vp's/directors/marketers to developers is way too high. Top management not in touch with what is really going on. Many middle managers empire building. Improper/juvenile uses of cost centers to the detriment of the company overall.

    Advice to Management

    Hire some managers with real management experience and training. Create a culture of honesty within the organization. Have product managers get ideas from the field, and be in constant contact with the field. Throw out stale European management practices and dominate the company with the American entrepreneurial spirit. Manage continental/area businesses in a localized way (American business can not be run as if it is French). Have managers / vp's communicate downline and quit being buffaloed by the middle managers. Find the right people to listen to regarding product strategy. Properly compensate your technical staff, product managers and sales engineers.
