BAE Systems Land and Armaments – “Trust in the directions of the senior management is questionable...

Sep 2, 2008

2.0

BAE Systems Land and Armaments Senior Mechanical Engineer in Santa Clara, CA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

In this day and age, not many companies offer such a complete benefits package such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, and performance share.

Cons

Lack of organized product development structure in the new line of business. Lack of fairness in the recognition of key contributors. Lack of knowledge of industry and industry processes in the new line of business. Incompetent program management.

Advice to Senior Management

The future of government contracting and programs seems to be changing from what this company has been conventionally used to, because even the government seems to be leaning out their selection and development processes. Proactive strategic planning and intelligent foresight will be necessary to continue the future growth of this company, instead of constantly reacting and responding because the company is not prepared. This includes knowing and understanding the company's true weaknesses, not from the middle management but from the actual people doing the work.
