Pros

In the week economy layoffs have been at a minimum. They do not hire at the peaks and layoff at the valleys, instead we endure a little more work during the peaks and that creates job security.

Proud of what I do "we protect those who protect us"

Cons

Benefits used to be a plus, but they have been dying off a bit. They try to compensate with providing a lot of little benefits, events, and perks rather than concentrating on making the valuable perks great.

Compared to the industry, slightly underpaid.

Advice to Management

Get younger employees feedback. Instead of all the 50-60 year old corporate heads making decisions in the company. We just went through a "facelift" and it looks like a doctors office, very sterile, and not at all appealing to the youth.

    Pros

    - Warm atmosphere of people who love what they do.
    - The pay and benefits are very healthy and comfortable for the area, and business trips are well taken care of without any hassle.
    - Believed heavily in the productivity-inducing benefits of work-life balance

    Cons

    - Regardless of how good the place may've been, I knew I wanted to be pursuing other endeavors that any 9-5 would've gotten in the way of
    - Didn't feel listened to. The management strategy for the projects I was working on were quite obviously unproductive in my mind, and turned out to prove themselves true after I got laid off (amongst others)

    Advice to Management

Realize that a supplier/business partner's promise, even in legal writing, isn't the equivalent of a guarantee; part of business is adapting to the reality of now regardless of how badly you may need to "succeed." "We've always done it this way" isn't a sound strategy to follow blindly.

  2. Helpful (1)

The division is not well managed or team oriented.
