I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great people, good benefits, smart technology, critical mission, lightly structured, world-wide presence and name recognition, largely varied market involvement.

Cons

BAE operates as a collection of small and medium-sized, independent companies and penalizes working together with other business inside of the company. Internal competition is stronger than company loyalty and commitment to a particular BAE brand, product or service. BAE operates as a conglomerate, not a monolithic corporation.

Advice to Management

Build trust with other sectors and lines of business through collaboration and tearing down internal borders.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My experience at BAE Systems is like belonging to a family. There good managers which actually care about you and your career path.

    Cons

They tend to begin a project without fully knowing the actual work scope and required trained staffing. To meet unrealistic schedule deadlines they place the burden on the workers to make up lost time by forcing mandatory overtime.

    Advice to Management

Provide adequate staffing to a project prior to program kickoff. Provide adequate training to workers and use overtime only as last resort.

I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large company with lots of resources. Plenty of opportunities if you're willing to relocate. Benefits were in line with most companies.

    Cons

Management of line of business didn't seem interested in growing the geographic market, which meant limited opportunities in the area.
