BB&T – “INSIDE IT”
Pros
Retirement benifits. BB&T University training.
Cons
A lot of thought goes into what to do very little in how to do it. As a result those that do are left holding the bag as it where. Gaining additional FTEs for additional projects is mission impossible. Nepotism, Cliquish. Constantly have to justify your existence. Constantly being called back into work. If you are not on the retail side youâ??re a second class employee,
Advice to Senior Management
Value all your employees. Provide the resources to get the project done and keep things running.

The Peter Principle is in full force here, and the same good ole boys keep getting recycled at every turn.
Some of the IT departments are importing Indians to do the work, and for what they can't import, they export to India.
Brown-nosing is the order of the day. Also, you had better wear your nametag on the right, and update your voicemail to say you are in the office every day on the off chance that someone would call you.
Some managers do "parking lot surveys" to see who's car is there at different times of the day.
There is no training. BB&T University is for HR people (called Human Systems. What a joke), management types, and banking officer anus-smoochers.
The retirement benefits may be okay since they still have a pension program, but let's face it - the average life expectancy here is 3 to 4 years. They have a "cliff-vesting" program where you don't get any of the great benefits until you have been there 5 years. (In other words, as you approach 5 years, they throw you off a cliff, and you get no benefits).
The organizations have a very long memory. Upset someone in management, and they'll wait until the next layoff opportunity to get rid of you as cleanly as possible. Otherwise, people are getting fired from there all the time. There was probably someone once a quarter in the division I worked at. Not a good place to work.
