I have been working at BB&T

Pros

Great benefits package from day one of employment. You get vacation right away. Medical/Dental/Vision all available.

Cons

Micromanagment from regional level all the way down to each branch. There seem to be a lot of pointless conference calls.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just let people do their jobs without standing over them all the time. Also cut down on the number of conference calls. Nothing is accomplished that way.

    I worked at BB&T

    Pros

BB&T has great benefits, health, 401K, vacation time. Generally you are supported if you follow the guidelines. Don't bend the rules to please a customer without getter supervisor approval because they will hold you accountable if you bend the rules and everything is tracked by your employee number.

    Cons

Nothing negative except sometimes you can get an odd manager who treat employees as just cogs in the machine, most managers have good people skills. You have to tough it out , the mgr usually gets transferred.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Generally they do a great job

    Good Ole Boy System

I have been working at BB&T

    Pros

Not a very difficult job, decent hours, decent pay.

    Cons

Referral goals are more important than serving the client-those who can play politics are not held to referral standards, somehow their performance is overlooked. employees in breach of compliance or those who are involved in a conflict of interest are not reprimanded. Staffing is poorly executed. Managers often beg employees to work extra hours because of staffing issues and then cut their hours at a later time saying they "worked over the allotted hours".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some coworkers solicit clients for employment in the branch on company time. Others refuse to make referrals because they will just get a slap on the wrist. There's a good ole boy system in place. Let's shift the focus from kissing up to the managers being the only way to get ahead, pointless conference calls, and making 100% of referral goals on skeleton crews, and focus on getting rid of the people who refuse to contribute.
