  2. Very well known brand, large clients but certainly not a modern working environment.

    I worked at BCR

    Pros

Large and well-known bank. Exposure to large corporate clients and major financing projects. Possibility for subsequent senior positions in smaller financial institutions. Perceived as very secure and financially sound.

    Cons

Stresfull work environment, long hours, somewhat outdated technical infrastructure, lots of office politics. Significant number of "old -school" type managers. Even though biggest in the country, the bank product range is somewhat outdated, slow to change and generally lags behind products offered by smaller and nimbler banks. This means that oftentimes you will have to struggle to sell products which offer worse rates than the competition, you will also have limited flexibility towards setting discounts for key clients due to management rigidness. Then, once the client leaves to the smaller bank, same management may blame you for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is paramount for BCR to modernize if it is to remain dominant.
