Pros

Stable employment--great for those looking at career long employment in the same company. Great work/life balance. Generally nice environment; low to medium pressure. Incentives include stock options and pension. Corporate mission and dedication to improving human health is real; can take pride in company's mission. A highly ethical company.

Cons

Pace of decision making could be improved; mostly due to red tape and bureacracies. Internal competiion among divisions. Advancement does take awhile, so be patient. Compensation is generally average for industry and region. Healthcare benefits not great for such a large company. High performers may get pat on back, or may advance quickly (depends on who you know).

Speed up the decision making, apply more pressure if want to meet objectives in innovation and launching new products.
