BECU offers solid work/life balance, but advance opportunities are limited

Consultant (Current Employee) Seattle, WA

ProsBoeing Employees Credit Union offers a stable, supportive work environment. Work/life balance is of great importance and is a key benefit. Employees are courteous and helpful to one another. The training on new products and new procedures is helpful and the training departments is one of the highest performing in the company. The Boeing Employees Credit Union always treated their members with respect, courtesy, and great service. I found this attention and devotion to the members to be a constant at all levels and functions throughout the company.

ConsCareer advancement and development could be improved. Investing in people and helping to identify key contributors with appropriate recognition and feedback are weaknesses as well. I found the company lacking in presenting its strategy and vision to front line employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementSeek to keep front line employees more informed of the overall company strategy and positioning.

Not a bad place to be.

    Manager (Former Employee) Seattle, WA

    I worked at BECU

Pros: There are a lot of good people there. Some of the investment-side work can be lucrative (if you can get it). There are… Cons: You probably won't get extremely rich. You may not get too much fulfillment… Advice to Senior Management: Don't forget to talk to people and be willing to… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More

    Great company, bad pay

    Member Consultant (Former Employee)

I worked at BECU full-time for more than a year

Pros: -4 weeks PTO -ethical organization to work for -great benefits Cons: -no sick leave, any time you take off due to sickness is counted against your attendance -sales goals are not achievable except by the select few… Advice to Senior Management: Compensate Member Consultants more competitively. They are the ones who bring in the members for the rest of the organization to have jobs. Restructure PTO… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
