I worked at BECU full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Banking Holidays, Executives believe and execute based on what they preach

Cons

Not all departments are equal when it comes to ratings that show the company as one of the best places to work. Some corporate departments are very inflexible

I have been working at BECU full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

the only pros was the vacation time accrual

    Cons

They have no regards to their employees and they ingnore them or find a way to fire or push them out the door when they raise concerns to upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to the way it was in 2008 and adapt back o that model. Stop pushing sales all the time and care more about your employees and their work life balance. Being at a meeting at 6:30 in the morning is obsurd especially for individuals whom have families and can't go to their daycare that early. If you are going to push their caring for individuals on the public then they should live by that and not say one thing and do another.

I worked at BECU full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

A lot of locations to work at and pretty good health insurance (for single people with no dependents).

    Cons

Compensation is horrible and when the cost of living is increasing the pay does not. Does not work with individuals that move far from their current location and helping them get a position close to home. The hours on the front line does not work well with an individual whom has children in daycare and doesn't care that a parent can't keep their child in daycare for more than 10 hours a day. If a person wants to transfer HR doesn't help or listen to their employees in regards to their needs. Instead they would rather lose good hardworking employees (high turn-over rate) and hire individuals that don't have experience or care what image they bring to the CU. I have seen retaliation and discrimination towards employees that stand up for themselves or bring attention to an issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really listen and take into consideration what your employees are saying. If you ask to take a survey then really listen to the survey. Consider doing a cost of living increase since the cost of living has increased dramatically (gas, rent, food).
