I worked at BI Worldwide as a contractor for more than a year

Pros

Here and there, you meet a few Account Reps or VPs that are smart, of integrity, and on the right track for delivering education and training the way it should be delivered.

Cons

I truly believe this company views vendors and freelancers as unpaid employees. They like to pull you in on projects with little notice, little promise on the "back end" of things, little gratitude, and work which amounts to significant free time delivered for BI to gain business. This can go on and on if one allows. Pay-off? Still waiting.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Definitely need to unify as a team, as the company is VERY dispersed. And certainly, more respect for the vendors and freelancers that essentially are the building blocks of your business.

I have been working at BI Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They can be an exciting company to work at, with the variety of things they do: from event planning and business theatre, to group and individual travel, to recognition and loyalty. There are BIW offices all around the world, serving a truly worldwide audience.

    Cons

The flat corporate structure makes advancement largely impossible, unless you happen to be one of the Insiders, or want to totally change jobs or departments. There are five levels: associate, senior associate (usually only title change, not an upgrade); team leader, director, vice president.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let associates participate in the performance reviews of those they report to. And trust your associates to telecommute effectively.
