Overworked and Underpaid - Wage not commensurate with responsibilities

ProsGreat intro to the company and interactive teller training... all downhill from there

ConsUnderstaffed
Have to work unpaid overtime often
Penny-pinching organization
Miserable Branch Mgr and Asst Branch Mgr and FSMs - just like tellers they too are overworked and realize it's a dead-end job

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you invest in people in retail banking you will actually realize your goals to be the top bank in Canada. However cutting tellers (who make as low as 25k a year full time) and the dismal pay only means you have constant turnover - which in turn frustrates your precious customers. After 3 months with BMO I was the most tenured teller!

I now sell cars and it's night and day.. Really there are a million jobs that pay 2x more and don't have half the stress.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
