Pros

The people are great to work with. There are a lot of departments to move within. It is a great starting career to gain experience.

Cons

The pay is fairly low across the board by 30% of the market. Vacation time is difficult to take because coverage is taken into account. Sick time is discouraged to be taken and it can not be taken too often in a certain period. Lunch time is strongly discouraged to be taken in its entirety. Month end and quarter end involve long hours. It is difficult to move up. They also go through a lot of restructuring and transferring of employees. They are very cost conscious. The culture is fast paced. Management is very critical of the employees. It seems the same employees are always being recognized. Work and Life balance needs to be managed better. Holiday parties and employee appreciation has been cut back.

Advice to Management

They should make their pay fair and competitive.

    Pros

    Decent pay & benefits
Work life balance (depending on your team & role)

    Cons

Old boy mentality. If you are not 10 yrs old in the Company, forget it; no one wants to hear what you have to say!
The Risk department is not able to keep its employees. Most people live in 6 months due to 'bureacrazy' and unnecessary hierarchy
Too many rumors and gossip floating around

    Advice to Management

Urgent need of leadership & change management
Need enhanced onboarding of new employees (culture, work etc.)

  2. It has its ups and downs; while there are great benefits for employees, hierarchy makes it begrudging.

    Pros

Easy company to get to know your coworkers; employee benefits are good.

    Cons

Compensation for "low-level" employees is very unfair, especially in comparison to the bankers and other workers in the branch.

    Advice to Management

Consider restructuring the compensation plan and salary system for service employees.
