Pros

Car program is fantastic. Benefits have been great, but have been slashed now.

Cons

Since many manager positions are slated as German only, these are 3 year contract positions, so a lack of consistency. Every three years there is a new direction, from someone who needs time to adjust to the culture change. The way it's done in Germany doesn't work everywhere. Lack of true innovation, so if you're a trailblazer you're wasting your time.
HR is a trainwreck, which causes repercussions at all levels.

Shake up HR & stop rotating management every 3 years.

    Very good pay and benefits. The overall compensation package is one of the best in South Carolina and well within the industry standards

    Too many politics between departments that slow down day to day business

    Stand up to Germany. Start making and implementing decisions without second guessing!

    Pros

    very competitive pay, amazing lease program, the Engineering and Operations Management Development Program, consisting of three 8 month rotations, is great for recent undergraduate or graduate students who are not sure what they want to do for work, it allows them to experience three different aspects of the company and job placement is guaranteed upon completion

    Cons

    bad communication between managers and employees, middle-manangement ceiling for Americans, robotic environment that discourages questioning and creativity, the rotational program is required to become a full-time BMW employee and the individual has little to zero choice in the job placement area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    if there is protocol and standards, communicate them to your employees and offer as much guidance as possible to prevent needless mistakes.
