“Extremely bureaucratic, comp below street. Hard to get ahead if you're not French.”
Former Employee – worked at BNP Paribas full-time
Pros – Better work/life balance than other banks. Good bank to move to if you're at Director/MD level and looking to relax.
Cons – Bureaucracy everywhere: it's impossible to get anything done. Huge disconnect between French and American employees. Limited opportunity for junior people. Software is archaic.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't expect to succeed in the United States with employees who lack basic English proficiency.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
