I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (more than a year)

Pros

BNY Mellon is not a competitor of retail banks, thus the experience is different then one would gain at a domestic (USA) retail bank. The bank makes an effort to promote diversity and community outreach. The bank streamlines processes rather well.

Cons

The workload is stringent and the merit increases are close to nothing. The merging of BNY and Mellon has been slow and appears to have affected the morale of many employees because of the polar opposite corporate cultures.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Involve employees more in daily operations.

Working hard does not pay off

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There are none, unless you consider that at least you are employed.

    Cons

My review (exceeds for 2012) produced a much lower annual raise. Consider that working harder and having it identified in my annual review, and the fact that BNY had a much better year financially, there were expectations for a better raise/bonus. My bonus was slightly larger, and my raise was 1/3 of last years.

Do not work hard since there is absolutely no return to the employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Various senior managers have stated that the 2012 employee survey had a large number of complaints about the above issue. Hard working employees are not rewarded. Management has stated that they are working on this (this is a fact since I attend the senior manager meeting where this has been discussed in 2012) and lo and behold - nothing is done to solve this issue.
