I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

"Safe" bank where no Cravath system is in place. Some international opportunities. Several interesting divisions with good earning potential. Good work life balance.

    Cons

Low bonuses/Lower salaries than other banks Slow to promote. Most positions are very rote and do not offer varied experiences.

    Advice to Management

Promote your people more. Encourage cross-division moves. Realign bonuses Fire more people

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and work/life balance. If you have motivation to move up, the opportunities are there, however opportunities are opened by tenure, not talent.

    Cons

Huge company that's easy to get "lost" in. Slow to change.

    Advice to Management

Good strides are being make toward career development and performance management. But just because a person is good a his/her job doesn't necessarily mean that person would be a good manager.
